To lose weight effectively, exercise should be a vital part of your daily routine. This is more important if you are feeling “stressed out”. The fact is, exercise can increase the body’s stress level in the short term due to the increase in heart rate, increase in blood pressure, stress on muscles and joints and energy burned by the body. But in the long run, it works the opposite way. It helps to reduce the body’s stress level and those who exercise regularly normally have a lower resting heart rate, normal blood pressure levels and high fitness level which help the body to cope with stressful events.


Stress on the other hand, can kill your diet plans. Stress can cause you to indulge in food frequently although your body does not need to be fed at that time. It can also cause you to lose appetite to eat and you will prefer eating snacks which contains high-calories.


Here are some tips to lose weight effectively by managing stress, exercising and watching your diet at the same time.


Make exercise part of your daily lifestyle. Every couple of hours, take a short walk, climbs a few stairs, do a simple stretch routine etc. You will be surprised how this simple routine can make a difference to manage stress.


In a typical day, make sure you do a favorite activity that excites you. All work and no play can add to your stress level.


Take time off and go for some activities that involve body movements, such as skating, hiking, cycling, golf etc. Exercise can reduce the stress hormone that builds up when things gets tense. By exercising regularly, you can keep the stress hormone down.
